Brandon Schalk, Ed's son-in-law, joined the Rhine and Daughters team full time in 2015. His interest in trees, the outdoors, and an active, creative lifestyle led him to leave his career in senior care and join the family business. Brandon received his bachelors degree in psychology from Huntington University in 2004 and masters degree in management from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2008.

Brandon and Rachel were married in 2005. They have two children, a daughter, Greta and a son Samuel.

Outside his involvement with the company, Brandon makes custom handcrafted furniture and windsor chairs. He is currently pursuing his interest in timber framing and specializes in small workshops, barns, garden sheds, and greenhouses.
